Growth Marketing Engineer

Raspberry AI · San Francisco, CA · 2 wk ago
HybridMarketing$140k–$180k/yrFull-time

We are a Series-A (backed by A16Z) AI platform built for fashion brands and retailers. We serve as the connective tissue between design, product development, merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, and wholesale teams, helping them accelerate from concept to market-ready assets using industry-leading AI. Some of the world's top fashion brands—including LVMH, Rag & Bone, Under Armour, TJX, Levi’s, and Kate Spade—rely on us to streamline workflows and enhance product development.

About The Role

We're hiring a Growth Marketing Engineer to build the AI systems that power Raspberry's entire marketing engine and own the growth and product-marketing outcomes those systems drive. This role sits within marketing, collaborating closely with demand generation, brand, content, and sales teams to improve both the speed and quality of our marketing efforts at scale.

You’ll architect tooling at the systems level to automate campaign execution while owning the growth motion those systems enable—positioning, demand generation, and go-to-market execution.

Responsibilities

  • Build the marketing engine
    • Shadow marketing and GTM functions to identify high-leverage systems to build from scratch, leaving only decision points where human judgment is essential.
    • Decompose marketing and growth workflows into their component parts—tools, data sources, outputs, human-in-the-loop conditions, and quality checks—and direct the build (in-house or with engineering/no-code support).
    • Ship full pipelines, not demos. A system isn’t complete until it’s adopted by the team, handles edge cases, and reflects Raspberry’s voice, brand, and positioning.
    • Build evaluation frameworks that measure agent output, surface quality issues, and tie directly to marketing and pipeline KPIs.
    • Develop search and AI visibility infrastructure, including structured data, schema markup, and systems to monitor how Raspberry’s content appears in AI-generated answers.
    • Invent new capabilities the team doesn’t yet have—such as a competitive-intel agent that updates battlecards in real time, a system that turns customer stories into distribution-ready content, or a sentiment-monitoring pipeline across customer and market signals.
    • Own the marketing data infrastructure: connect campaign performance, attribution, and pipeline impact into accurate, actionable dashboards and reporting.
    • Codify what works into templates, scripts, and repeatable playbooks; run disciplined experiments and treat each deployment as a hypothesis.
    • Enable the broader team by documenting builds, sharing walkthroughs, and making systems usable by marketing and sales without your direct involvement.
    • Be the first adopter of AI at Raspberry—consistently incorporate new tools and models, and revisit previous builds to leverage advances in the space.
  • Own growth and demand generation
    • Build and scale Raspberry’s demand generation function through multi-channel campaigns (paid, email, webinars, content syndication) that drive qualified pipeline.
    • Own the full funnel from lead capture to MQL to pipeline, partnering closely with sales on handoff, scoring, and conversion.
    • Plan and execute field marketing—industry events, dinners, conferences, and targeted regional activations (especially in fashion/retail hubs) to generate and accelerate pipeline.
    • Manage budget and external vendors/agencies, making data-driven decisions on spend allocation.
  • Own positioning and go-to-market
    • Develop and own the core positioning and messaging framework; translate complex AI capabilities into clear, compelling narratives, and collaborate with product to shape how new features are framed.
    • Define GTM strategy and execution for product launches—set launch tiers, success criteria, and build cross-functional launch plans across product, sales, and design.
    • Lead ongoing market and customer research; refine ICP and synthesize buyer insights into actionable frameworks.
    • Own competitive intelligence—build and maintain battlecards (ideally via agents that detect competitive shifts in real time) and turn research into strategic recommendations.
    • Collaborate with sales on territory goals, messaging, and priorities to ensure field programs align with revenue objectives.
    • Attend customer-facing meetings and events where marketing presence adds value.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience across growth/demand generation, product marketing, marketing operations, or a similar role combining marketing strategy with hands-on systems building; ideally at a high-growth B2B SaaS or AI company (fashion/retail/creative tech is a plus).
  • Proven track record of shipping internal tools or systems that a team fully adopted and used to move real marketing or pipeline metrics.
  • Experience building demand-gen programs that drove measurable pipeline and developing positioning and messaging that supports it.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity—you proactively identify what’s valuable and have the resourcefulness to make it happen without waiting for direction.
  • Hands-on, practical experience with AI tools and no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, Make) to design and deploy automations and workflows—no coding background required.
  • Familiarity with demand-gen channels (paid search/social, email, webinars, ABM) and the systems behind them—marketing automation, CRM (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot), ESPs, and attribution.
  • Understanding of how search engines and AI models discover, index, and surface content.
  • Strong analytical instincts; comfortable owning a number and reporting on it transparently.

How We Work

  • Be an owner: We take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. We don’t wait for permission—we step up, move fast, and hold ourselves accountable to results.
  • Bias to solution: We go beyond identifying problems to actively unblocking ourselves and others.
  • Customer obsession: Everything we build starts with the customer. We listen deeply, move quickly, and obsess over delivering tools that make their work faster and more creative.
  • Lowest level of detail: We’re not afraid to get in the weeds. Great work comes from people who notice what others miss and ask deeper questions.
  • 1% better every day: Progress compounds. We stay curious, ask for feedback, and look for the small improvements that make tomorrow better than today.
  • AI first: We use AI across the entire company—from product to growth to operations—to move faster and produce higher-quality work. This role is the sharpest expression of that.

Benefits

  • Innovative culture: a generational opportunity to define the role of AI in one of the world’s largest industries.
  • Growth paths: opportunities to drive impact beyond your immediate role as the company scales.
  • Learning & development: annual discretionary stipend for professional development.
  • Annual company offsite that brings the whole team together.
  • Competitive salary and equity options.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.
