About the Role
The Director of Marketing will oversee all brand strategy, digital performance marketing, traditional media buying, multi-touch attribution, and business development enablement. With a focus on trial law and medical malpractice, you will design and execute omni-channel marketing campaigns that build trust, drive high-value intake, and maximize ROI across all channels—from broadcast television to local SEO.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Campaign Management
- Develop and execute the firm’s overarching marketing roadmap, aligning performance metrics with revenue goals.
- Manage and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring maximum efficiency across paid digital, broadcast media, agency retainers, and sponsorship channels.
- Lead agency partners, media buyers, SEO specialists, and creative contractors to ensure flawless execution and brand consistency.
- TV & Broadcast Advertising
- Direct broadcast TV and OTT/CTV media buying strategies tailored for medical malpractice lead generation.
- Oversee commercial production, messaging, and compliance with state bar advertising ethics.
- Track call-in volumes, lead quality, and cost-per-acquisition (CPA) tied directly to broadcast schedules.
- Digital Media, SEO & Social Media Growth
- Drive comprehensive organic (SEO) and paid (PPC/Google Local Services Ads) search strategies targeting high-intent medical malpractice queries.
- Manage social media strategy across platform channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) to build authority, publish educational legal content, and foster community presence.
- Oversee organic content strategies, case result highlights, and thought leadership publishing.
- Digital Attribution & Performance Analytics
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced digital attribution models (multi-touch, first/last click, data-driven) to track prospects from first impression to signed retainer.
- Integrate CRM/intake data with marketing platforms to monitor cost-per-lead (CPL) and cost-per-signed-case (CPSC).
- Deliver monthly executive dashboards translating complex marketing data into clear, actionable business insights for firm partners.
- Business Development & Presentation Development
- Partner with firm leadership and trial attorneys to create compelling, high-end pitch decks, referral presentations, and speaking materials.
- Develop marketing materials targeting attorney-to-attorney referral networks and medical expert outreach.
- Manage the firm’s public relations, press releases for major verdicts/settlements, and industry award submissions.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a mandatory background in legal marketing (medical malpractice or plaintiff personal injury highly preferred).
- Technical Mastery: Deep experience in digital multi-touch attribution tools, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), call-tracking software (CallRail, etc.), and legal CRM platforms (e.g., Filevine, Litify, Salesforce).
- Media Expertise: Proven track record running large-scale direct-response TV/video campaigns and digital media ad spend.
- SEO & Content: Strong understanding of technical, local, and content-driven SEO specific to high-competition legal keywords.
- Presentation Skills: Exceptional graphic layout and presentation design skills (PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for business development decks.
- Compliance: Thorough understanding of state bar advertising guidelines and ethics rules governing legal marketing.
