Job Description Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Marketing Communications Specialist for Comer Children's Hospital. This position is hybrid, and you will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The Marketing Communications Specialist develops internal and external communications, including multimedia content for the web. Essential Job Functions Acts as an experienced writer and editor for internal and external publications, the UChicago Medicine website, content hub, and social media channels Writes and edits internal and external communications (e.g., executive remarks, internet/intranet articles, newsletter content, marketing copy, etc.) Publishes final, approved content through internet/intranet content management system Establishes and maintains Department editorial standards Develops and implements internal and external communication plans for select internal clients Fosters a client-focused approach Maintains brand messaging for UCMC/BSD Evaluates communications plan success and reports findings to department leaders Participates in process improvement Performs other duties assigned Required Qualifications BA or BS in communications, English, journalism, or related field Three (3) to six (6) years in communications or journalism field Skilled writer and editor Demonstrated ability to manage content management systems for web purposes Experience determining proper packaging and distribution content distribution strategies and tactics Works well with creative staff, administrators and academic medical professionals Knowledge of various multimedia tools and platforms (including A/V, graphic design software, etc.) Able to work as part of a team as well as independently Able to juggle many tasks effectively Knowledge of AP style Deadline-driven Position Details Job Type / FTE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Shift: Days Job Location: Hyde Park Unit/Department: Nursing Pediatrics Admin – Hyde Park CBA Code: Non-Union About Us We’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
