About the role

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks a dynamic, student-centered and forward-thinking Marketing Communications Specialist to support prospective student communications and enrollment marketing initiatives. The Marketing Communications Specialist is a vital member of the enrollment marketing team and is responsible for creating and overseeing prospective student communications, including individual and mass communications, email marketing campaigns, and print materials.

This position works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop communication strategies and materials that support marketing needs. The Marketing Communications Specialist also partners with digital, social media, and creative services team members on cross-functional initiatives.

The Marketing Communications Specialist works with internal stakeholders to identify needs, establish goals, and assess the viability of requests. When requests require print or digital resources, this position coordinates with the appropriate marketing team members. The specialist also works closely with the Associate Director of Enrollment Communication to write email copy and gather supporting assets.

Working independently, the Marketing Communications Specialist identifies student, faculty, and alumni success stories; develops written content, including blog posts, newsletters, and articles; and determines the appropriate channels for distribution. The position is also responsible for maintaining degree-specific playbooks, content databases, communication flows, and other collections of marketing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee prospective student communications, including individual and mass communications, email marketing campaigns, and print materials.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop communication strategies and materials that support marketing needs.
  • Partner with digital, social media, and creative services team members on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Identify needs, establish goals, and assess the viability of requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with appropriate marketing team members for print or digital resource requests.
  • Write email copy and gather supporting assets in collaboration with the Associate Director of Enrollment Communication.
  • Identify student, faculty, and alumni success stories; develop written content, including blog posts, newsletters, and articles.
  • Determine the appropriate channels for content distribution.
  • Maintain degree-specific playbooks, content databases, communication flows, and other collections of marketing materials.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience across a range of marketing channels and platforms, including print, email, digital, and social media.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, as well as internet-based applications.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
  • Ability to exercise sound editorial judgment based on the prospective student recruitment lifecycle, university policies, and institutional goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, students, and alumni.
  • Ability to think creatively, develop innovative solutions, and look beyond existing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and an effective communicator.
  • Professional and positive attitude, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service to colleagues, staff, and other constituents.
  • Strong command of writing and report-preparation principles, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to seek guidance and direction when necessary.
