Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that advance organizational goals and strengthen brand identity.
  • Partner with leadership to define key messages, target audiences, and standards for consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Cook up internal communications to ensure alignment, clarity, and timely dissemination of information.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and distribution of content across print and digital channels, including social media, websites, blogs, brochures, banners, posters, advertising, and email campaigns.
  • Manage the organization’s social media presence, ensuring consistent branding, tone, and engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics, adjusting strategies to maximize reach, visibility, and audience engagement.
  • Lead or support the development of internal communications—memos, letters, announcements—ensuring alignment with brand standards and organizational voice.
  • Produce visually compelling communication materials that enhance storytelling and reinforce brand identity.
  • Proactively collaborate with internal markets and business units to capture photos, videos, and stories that highlight team members, project milestones, and achievements across The Cianbro Companies.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage sensitive or high-risk situations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and related materials to support organizational visibility.
  • Manage media inquiries and serve as the organization’s spokesperson when appropriate.
  • Track and analyze media coverage, providing regular insights and reports to leadership.
  • Supervise and mentor the internal media services team and manage relationships with external creative and media partners.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 years of relative knowledge and experience in a similar position with at least 2 years in management.
  • Experience in media and public relations, communications, marketing and journalism preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring tools, social media platforms, content management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, Illustrator).
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow knowledge of cutting-edge media tools to reach and capture the attention of our target audience.
