About the role

Hand to Hold is a national nonprofit organization committed to providing early intervention mental health support for NICU families. This internship is ideal for a college student interested in marketing, communications, public relations, media, nonprofit leadership, content creation, or event marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the creation, scheduling, and engagement of social media content
  • Support the development of marketing campaigns and awareness initiatives
  • Draft content for blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and website updates
  • Assist with story collection efforts featuring NICU families, volunteers, donors, and community partners
  • Support podcast, video, and multimedia content production
  • Assist with event marketing for fundraising events, conferences, and community programs
  • Conduct research on industry trends, nonprofit communications, and audience engagement
  • Organize marketing assets, photos, videos, and content calendars
  • Attend occasional meetings, events, recordings, or community activities

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Media Studies, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Interest in nonprofit work, healthcare, maternal mental health, family support, or storytelling is a plus
  • Familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, or content creation tools is helpful but not required

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule
  • Approximately 10-15 hours per week
  • Hybrid opportunity with occasional in-person meetings or events in the Austin area
  • Unpaid internship with eligibility for course credit
  • Supervised by the Marketing Manager/Executive Director
  • Semester and summer opportunities available
