About the role

Cambridge, MA | 3 days/week in office | Unpaid Datalign is a Cambridge fintech using data and AI to tackle a problem we think is worth solving: helping more Americans get financial advice they can trust. We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Intern to help us tell that story — through podcasts, video, social media, PR, content, and new ideas we haven’t thought of yet. You’ll work closely with our marketing and communications team and get a real look at how marketing works at a growing company. You might edit an episode of our Perfectly Aligned podcast, turn a conversation with a financial advisor into social clips, help us respond to something happening in the news, research what people are asking about their money, or dig into Google Analytics to figure out why a piece of content took off. You’ll learn marketing strategy, financial services, AI, and content production by working on all four.

Responsibilities

  • Podcast and video: Help produce Perfectly Aligned, including episode research, conversation outlines, recording, editing, and promotional clips. You’ll get trained on our podcast studio and help shoot and edit video for social.
  • Social media: Help run our presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Create posts and video, manage our publishing calendar, and pay attention to what people actually engage with.
  • Writing and content: Research and create content for consumers and financial advisors, from social posts and scripts to articles and website copy. You’ll also learn the basics of SEO and how AI is changing the way people find information online.
  • PR and storytelling: Keep an eye on financial services, technology, AI, media, and culture. Help us spot stories Datalign should be part of and support press releases, awards, executive content, and company announcements.
  • Performance: Help track social engagement, website traffic, search performance, AI visibility, and other signals that tell us whether our work is reaching people.
  • Experimenting: Try new formats and tools, pitch ideas, and help us figure out what we should make next.

Requirements

You have a bachelor’s degree; current graduate students are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Some experience shooting or editing video and audio would be useful.
  • Experience running social accounts, writing for an audience, using analytics, or experimenting with AI tools is a plus.
  • Interest in technology, finance, media, marketing, AI, or a combination of them, and a desire to understand these subjects beyond the headlines.

Skills

  • Strong writing ability and a good eye and ear for content.
  • Curiosity and the ability to figure things out; comfort experimenting with technology.
  • Willingness to learn new tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, AI video tools, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude.
