About the role

The Marketing Communication Specialist will support the creation and execution of strategic communications that strengthen brand awareness, engagement, and organizational alignment. This role focuses on developing high-quality content across multiple channels, including internal communications, websites, marketing materials, and sales enablement assets. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and editor who can adapt messaging for diverse audiences while maintaining brand consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and coordinate marketing communications materials, including internal and external communications, letters, biographies, website content, and sales enablement assets.
  • Develop engaging messaging for campaigns, initiatives, and strategic priorities that connect with target audiences.
  • Write original content that communicates organizational achievements, strengthens brand storytelling, and supports communications objectives.
  • Adapt writing style and tone across different audiences, platforms, and communication formats while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Research topics thoroughly to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and credibility.
  • Support creative content development by identifying new storytelling opportunities and innovative communication approaches.
  • Edit and proofread materials to ensure clarity, quality, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
  • Maintain brand voice, messaging standards, and editorial guidelines across all communications.
  • Apply appropriate writing standards, including AP Style and healthcare industry terminology.
  • Support integrated marketing campaigns by developing content, coordinating deliverables, and collaborating with creative teams.
  • Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist with media relations activities, including drafting announcements, media materials, fact sheets, Q&As, and executive communications.
  • Support media monitoring, competitive analysis, and reputation management initiatives.
  • Stay informed on healthcare trends, industry developments, and evolving communications practices to inform content strategy.
  • Contribute insights and recommendations that support thought leadership and strategic positioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience creating and editing content for multiple formats, including websites, social media, news releases, and corporate communications.
  • Strong storytelling abilities with excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Experience developing and managing content strategies across digital and traditional communication channels.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice, audience engagement, and marketing communications principles.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with marketing, creative, operational, and leadership teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Experience managing organic social media channels for a business or organization.
  • Preferred experience in healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and consumer data privacy compliance is a plus.
  • Experience with online reputation management is preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, up to 25%.
