About the role
This is a remote role based in Redmond. Pay Range: $35/hr – $38/hr
Responsibilities
- Survey Design & Programming: Develop initial drafts of survey questionnaires aligned with research objectives. Apply best practices in survey design, ensuring question clarity, logical flow, and avoidance of bias. Program surveys using industry-standard platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Decipher), incorporating logic, piping, and randomization.
- Data Processing & Crosstab Development: Clean and prepare datasets for analysis, including coding, recoding, and variable setup. Build structured crosstabs aligned with analysis plans and business questions. Ensure accuracy and consistency across data cuts and key variables. Identify and flag anomalies or data quality issues.
- Analysis & Insights Support: Execute defined analysis plans using descriptive statistics and basic analytical techniques. Analyze crosstabs to identify key differences, trends, and meaningful patterns. Validate findings against hypotheses and flag unexpected results. Support the development of clear, data-backed insights tied to business needs.
- Reporting & Deliverables: Develop draft reports (e.g., in presentation or document format) summarizing key findings. Translate data into clear, concise insights with supporting evidence. Build charts and tables that simplify complex information for stakeholders. Iterate on deliverables based on feedback to refine impact.
- Project & Timeline Management: Own execution timelines for assigned research projects. Proactively communicate risks or delays well in advance and propose mitigation plans. Ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards. Maintain organization of files, outputs, and project documentation.
- Research Execution Support: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior researchers to refine research plans. Ensure outputs align with business questions and stakeholder needs. Support survey and research reviews to improve clarity, rigor, and actionability.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in market research or analytics.
- Strong experience with survey programming platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Decipher).
- Experience drafting surveys and applying basic survey design principles.
- Proficiency in common spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) for crosstabs, pivot tables, and data cleaning.
- Experience with statistical tools (SPSS, R, or similar).
- Experience working with large-scale survey datasets.
- Experience creating research reports and data visualizations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage timelines and communicate proactively.
- Highly organized with strong ownership over deliverables and timelines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data quality and accuracy.
- Clear communicator who proactively raises issues and surfaces risks.
- Able to translate data into clear, actionable outputs.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Familiarity with advanced quantitative methods (e.g., segmentation, regression, weighting).
- Background in advertiser, marketing, or technology research.
- 5–7 years of experience in marketing, market research, consumer insights, project coordination, or a related field.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities and experience using tools such as SPSS, R, or similar research/analytics platforms.
- Portfolio or relevant work samples preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
