About the role

10 Design is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to be based in one of our US studios – Miami or San Francisco. Working alongside the Global Director of Marketing and Communications and regional leadership, this role will focus on enhancing and solidifying 10 Design's reputation in the industry and driving growth in the region through a strategic marketing plan.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the US-focused communications strategy and work closely with the Global Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute communications strategies for the US audience, focusing on key sectors – hospitality, mixed-use, and retail.
  • Coordinate with leadership, internal design teams and various external agencies to identify key story angles to engage media in the region and ensure a constant and positive flow of stories and news.
  • Measure and analyse the ROI and KPIs of all marketing campaigns and digital performance metrics.
  • Strategize, implement, and manage editorial calendar.
  • Manage the approval process with clients and project teams.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients' marketing/comms teams, journalists/editors, and collaborators to secure collaborative campaigns and brand-building opportunities.
  • Work alongside global marcomm team to craft and implement regional external newsletter strategy, managing content, distribution, and contacts database.
  • Handle internal communications – newsletters/regular updates to the team.
  • Lead creation of press materials (design backgrounders, press releases, pitches, case studies, fact sheets, talking points, messaging).
  • Coordinate with leadership and design teams to identify media worthy content.
  • Work with design teams to identify and create a series of thought leadership papers/articles to position the firm as thought leaders in the industry.
  • Craft compelling content (written and visual) that engages our target audience and enhances our brand presence.
  • Write and proof copy for a range of social and marketing platforms/materials to align with the company voice, including websites, blogposts, social media, emails, and brochures.
  • Collaborate with global team to develop and adapt materials for the region.
  • Strategize the firm's digital content for the Americas alongside the wider marketing team, devising innovative and exciting ways to help grow our audiences, especially in new markets.
  • Manage and deliver the day-to-day calendar of regional activity across all central social media platforms, aligned to the wider global marketing plans.
  • Create a monthly content calendar, utilizing key social days and project milestones.
  • Create regular reports to demonstrate platform growth, ROI, and alignment with overall messaging; leverage analytics to refine strategy and maximize impact.
  • Compose and review digital content across the firm's social media channels and website, working alongside global marketing team.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in the region to optimize and amplify their social presence.
  • Help execute website strategies, including updating, editing and proofing new website content.
  • Coordinate with project teams to understand construction programmes periodically.
  • Plan and budget for photography and videography of projects accordingly (construction milestones and full completion).
  • Coordinate with clients for approval and with leadership and design teams for briefs.
  • Manage and act as the primary point of contact for all award/ranking/survey submissions in the region.
  • Position and target key rankings such as '40 under 40', top women in business, etc.
  • Manage the awards list and identify any appropriate awards to submit annually, in line with global marketing budget.
  • Coordinate with design principals and global marketing team on submissions.
  • Work on nomination submissions accordingly, working alongside graphics team on visuals.
  • Identify high-level speaking opportunities for leadership team.
  • Manage and measure engagement.
  • Identify, plan and execute key regional/local events within the marketing budget.
  • Grow and maintain media contacts in the region.
  • Update marketing team on new content developed (project progress and award results).
  • Coordinate with project teams on new/updated project content.
  • Obtain approvals from design principals and clients on media content.
  • Manage crisis events and ensure appropriate actions are carried out based on the current impacts of the event, as well as potential risks and impacts.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field: Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, etc.
  • Experience in editorial writing and research.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Creative Suite software.
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the AEC or related industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the US media landscape.
  • A strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and nimble.
  • Keeps up to date with trends/industry developments and can translate them into opportunities for 10 Design.
  • In-depth knowledge of demand generation marketing with experience leading digital marketing, performance marketing, media planning, product marketing, PR, and campaigns teams (high growth/quality revenue generating pipeline).
  • Good graphic eye.

Location

The role will be office based in one of our US studios – Miami or San Francisco. Occasional travel may be required.
