Market Researcher

Location: Boston, MA (fully remote within the United States, excluding CA, OH, WA, WY, ND, OR)

About the role

We are hiring Market Researchers for a contract role that offers new challenges, a variety of work, and exposure to a new industry every month. This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, project-based work with ongoing opportunities as projects arise.

Market Researchers conduct phone-based, structured interviews with industry experts to gather insights on key players, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics. Your research and written summaries will directly inform client presentations and strategic decisions. Researchers work in collaborative teams of 3–5 and gain exposure to diverse industries and strategy consulting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phone-based, structured interviews with market participants and industry experts.
• Gather both quantitative and qualitative data on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics.
• Write clear, concise summaries of interviews for use in client deliverables.
• Work collaboratively in teams of 3–5 researchers to provide high-quality market insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable conducting phone-based research and interviews.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Professional remote work environment with reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, distraction-free workspace.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. ET for the full duration of each project (typically 3–4 weeks).
• U.S. work authorization required (no employer sponsorship provided).

Qualifications

• Experience with phone-based research, market research, journalism, writing, or related fields is preferred.
• Bilingual interviewing experience (e.g., Spanish, Canadian French, Portuguese) is a plus.

Pay

$25.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience, education, skills, and qualifications. Pay is issued weekly.

Schedule

Contract role staffed on a project-by-project basis, with each project typically lasting 3–4 weeks. Researchers must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. ET for the full duration of each project.
