Responsibilities

This position is a key player in the organization who ensures all patients receive the highest quality optometric care by performing comprehensive clinical protocols while maximizing results, and growth through strong partnership with the location’s team members.

  • Management & leadership responsibilities:
    • Create compelling vision for the future, develop clear goals and operating plans ensuring executional excellence and winning results in partnership with the Store Managers and field leaders.
    • Coach and develop ODs and Office Staff on building sales, increasing exams, and increasing NPS and OD office deliverables.
    • Set and communicate clear objectives and expectations, demonstrate commitment to exceed results through strong competency in Key Performance Indicators management and high accountability for Optometrist.
    • Lead and manage Optometrist’s in providing unsurpassed patient excellence.
    • Forecast optometrist staffing needs based on available information.
    • Demonstrate effective communication with all offices and retail teams to ensure a seamless patient experience and transition from exam lanes to retail floor.
    • Maintain working relationship with Store Manager and Field Leader to meet KPI goals.
    • Recruit, interview and select high caliber, success-oriented talent to fill Optometrist openings.
  • Clinical responsibilities:
    • Ensure Standard of Care is met.
    • Place the patient as the center focus and deliver excellent patient care.
    • Address all patient optical lifestyle needs.
    • Build patients for life and become their sole family practitioner.
    • Listen carefully to patients’ questions or concerns.
    • Provide a summary of patient overall eye health.
    • Conduct service in accordance with protocol and accepted standard of care.
    • Establish a positive doctor/patient relationship.
    • Utilize and leverage all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Maintain State Licensure and practices to the full scope of that license; maintain continuing education requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership/management skills
  • Knowledge of current Optometric technology and practices
  • Developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of sound business management practices and business acumen
