About the role
The Market Manager is responsible for the management of 8Fleet's operations in Sacramento, including but not limited to: managing end-to-end operations, strategic planning, data oversight, business operations, and BD. This is an essential role that requires operational expertise, a deep understanding of the ridesharing industry, and a founder’s mindset. This role will tackle key business priorities that amplify the growth of our business and facilitate operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Growth & Management: Own all financial and operational metrics to ensure optimal revenue and profit maximization
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including driver scheduling, dispatch, and performance monitoring
- Manage vehicle maintenance and repair programs to ensure optimal fleet utilization and safety
- Partner with the Growth team to develop and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing driver base
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement in profitability and operational efficiency
- Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize fleet profitability
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards achieving business goals
- Driver Support & Training: Provide ongoing support and training to drivers on industry best practices, safety regulations, and customer service
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for all employees
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions
Qualifications
- 2+ years of operations management, business consulting, or related experience managing operations, building and developing teams, optimizing processes, and delivering business goals
- 2+ years of people management experience, high EQ, and proven ability to deliver outstanding results through others in a timely manner using a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
- Goal focus with a strong bias toward action
- Entrepreneurial hustle and proven self-starter with owner’s mentality; some entrepreneurial experience is preferred
- Data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others
- Excellent organization and time management
- Willingness to get your hands dirty, lead by example, and motivate teams both through in-person and remote management
- BA/BS with an impressive academic record
- MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus
- Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a strong plus
