About the role
We are seeking a Market Growth Lead for a well-established, growth-oriented commercial general contractor in the Triangle region. This is a strategic, high-visibility role for an experienced business development professional who wants to shape how a growing organization wins work, builds market presence, and expands its client base.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan aligned with regional business goals, identifying priority clients, markets, and sectors to pursue
- Build and deepen trusted relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, and other key market influencers
- Identify and engage on project opportunities early — well before formal solicitation — to help position the company ahead of competition
- Create and maintain strategic account plans, expanding relationships across services and project types
- Lead go/no-go input, competitive positioning, win-theme development, and pursuit strategy for priority opportunities
- Maintain disciplined CRM data, accurate forecasting, and clear pipeline reporting that leadership can rely on
- Represent the company at industry organizations and events, building credibility and visibility in target markets
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, preconstruction, and operations teams to strengthen the client experience and generate repeat business
- Track results, conduct win/loss reviews, and continuously refine the go-to-market approach
Requirements
- Approximately 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in strategic business development, market development, client growth, or complex B2B sales
- A track record of personally driving measurable revenue or market growth — not just supporting it
- Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder decisions and long sales cycles
- Strong executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Sound commercial judgment, including the ability to qualify and prioritize opportunities
- Comfortable using CRM tools, pipeline management, and forecasting processes
- Willingness to travel regionally and attend industry events outside normal business hours
Qualifications
- Commercial construction and commercial real estate experience is highly valued but not required. We welcome candidates from adjacent industries — such as development, brokerage, owner representation, architecture/engineering, healthcare and life-science solutions, or other complex B2B environments — who can demonstrate strong growth results and the ability to learn a new industry quickly.

- CRM and pipeline management
- Executive-level communication and presentation
- Industry networking and event attendance
