About the Role
This is a full-time salaried position with Project Farma, a PerkinElmer company, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The successful candidate must reside in the Indianapolis area (or within an easily commutable distance) and be willing to travel domestically to meet client project requests. Project Farma's mission is to improve patient lives by accelerating the delivery of life-changing therapies through high-quality life sciences projects across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Market Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive market strategy to position the firm as a leader in CQV services.
- Identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive landscapes to position service offerings for growth of existing partnerships/clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Business Growth & Development:
- Work with Site Leads to maintain site dashboards, identify top existing accounts, and pursue expansion opportunities.
- Participate in market-based industry events to build a local network and identify new business opportunities.
- Provide critical input into new site RFPs within the market.
- Collaborate with marketing on thought leadership through white papers, conference speaking, etc.
- Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new opportunities, expanding client portfolios, and securing high-value contracts.
- Collaborate with the Lead Generation Team to create targeted campaigns and generate leads.
- Set and achieve revenue targets by leveraging market insights and optimizing pricing strategies.
- Talent Development:
- Oversee career trajectories of resources in the market.
- Provide input on talent management decisions, including performance management.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Site Leads.
- Maintain active succession plans across all sites.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering accountability and excellence.
- Set performance goals, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development.
- Enhance retention by promoting a collaborative environment and recognizing achievements.
- Resource Management:
- Provide input on resourcing decisions within the market.
- Partner with Finance and VPs to forecast resource needs and maintain a forward-looking plan.
- Manage resource utilization and staff mix to ensure high-quality delivery and profitability.
- Technical Delivery:
- Ensure appropriate staffing for high-quality delivery.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and provide guidance on complex CQV challenges.
- Act as an escalation point for technical delivery issues.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Financial Performance:
- Achieve annual billable hours target of at least 30 hours per week.
- Oversee project profitability by managing resource allocation and controlling costs.
- Implement process improvements to enhance margins without compromising quality.
- Monitor financial KPIs and adjust strategies to maximize EBITDA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Engineering, or related discipline (OR equivalent experience in CQV engineering, cGMP facility start-up, project management, or military experience). Advanced degree preferred.
- 16+ years in life sciences/biotech GMP, with at least 7 years in professional services.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing P&L, and achieving financial targets.
- Strong leadership experience in building and retaining high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of CQV processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Project Farma's service delivery model and operational processes.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration.
- Established network of industry contacts in Indianapolis.
Other Requirements
- Full-time on-site client presence.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship available).
- Valid driver's license.
The annual compensation range for this position is $180,000 - $215,000. The final base pay will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications.
