About the role

The Market Coordinator, Pet Food plays a vital role in supporting the success and growth of the pet food business by serving as a key liaison between customers, manufacturing facilities, sales leadership, and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up finished product service activities including inventory management, logistics, scheduling, and fulfillment to support manufacturing sites and customer requirements.
  • Serve as a primary customer-facing contact, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and exceptional service for customer accounts.
  • Work closely with manufacturing plants and internal teams to align production schedules, inventory availability, and customer demand.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in Oracle sales, procurement, and inventory management systems.
  • Partner closely with Product Quality and Safety teams to ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary communication point between sales managers, customers, manufacturing sites, logistics teams, and customer service teams.
  • Complete and manage documentation related to customer approvals, audits, regulatory compliance, pricing, and contract fulfillment.
  • Oversee administrative functions related to order entry, scheduling, invoicing, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Ensure all plant positions and related reporting are completed in accordance with accounting requirements and assist with month-end and financial closings.
  • Coordinate company participation in trade shows, conferences, and industry events including scheduling, logistics, and meeting coordination.
  • Support business development initiatives by identifying and pursuing new customer opportunities through prospecting and strategic sales efforts.
  • Aid in contract negotiations and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and support.
  • Collaborate with other Darling Ingredients business lines to maximize synergies and support pet food growth initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (minimum 4 years) in agriculture, ingredient sales, logistics, commodities, or a related industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-facing, logistics, supply chain, commodities, agricultural, or ingredient sales environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing plants and operations teams.
  • Proficiency in Oracle platforms related to sales, purchasing, inventory management, and order processing.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, solve problems, and make informed business decisions.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical & Work Environment

Primarily office-based environment with occasional travel for trade shows, conferences, or customer visits as needed. Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
