Market Access Analytics Manager
About the role
The Market Access function aims to remove barriers to the adoption of advanced therapies by building an integrated economic and clinical value proposition, supported by resource utilization studies. The team also drives initiatives to raise disease state awareness, close treatment gaps, and enable efficient care delivery that improves patient outcomes and system-level value across vascular and neurovascular disease states.
Responsibilities
- Select the appropriate data sources to develop reports and dashboards of Real-World Evidence for market access.
- Owes projects end to end including strategy, study design, tool development, analysis, and presentation to internal team.
- Collaborates with statisticians, data managers, clinical team, CMOs, data vendors, IT, Reimbursement & Health Economics and QA to provide market access data analysis reports and tools that enhance business processes.
- Develops market access research activities to enhance the value proposition of Penumbra products.
- Identifies evidence gaps for Penumbra products, proposes, and collaborates on study designs to address key research questions, develops research project plans, executes analysis using appropriate statistical methodologies and software, interprets study results, communicates key findings to senior leadership, and packages results for review and publication in peer-reviewed publications.
- Works with the HEOR and Market Access teams to verify data entry in manuscripts, presentations, and abstracts as needed.
- Supports the market adoption of key products and advances understanding of specific disease areas.
- Provides research guidance to external research vendors or Internal Analysts involved in Real World Evidence studies using GPO data or data acquired from Data conveners.
- Provides research guidance and support to physicians interested in analyzing practice patterns at respective hospitals or hospital systems for publication or podium presentations.
- Identifies opportunities where market access can support challenges facing emerging technologies and commercially marketed products and communicates business impact to senior management.
- Collaborates with the market access team to clarify and finalize user requirement specifications for market access data analysis tools and reports.
- Selects, manages, trains, and develops staff.
- Establishes objectives and assignments and provides ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the data warehouse used to manage libraries of real-world evidence study data including image, source document, and data files.
- Develops dashboards and reports to support the market access team by evaluating usecase requirements and selecting the optimal strategy, analytical methods, and tools for execution.
- Assists in the setup of programming timelines and deliverables for projects as required.
- Assists in addressing external application vendor issues, integrations, and implementations.
- Supports implementation of upgrades and new modules from remotely hosted vendors, taking ownership of documentation by acquiring, augmenting, and maintaining it in a centralized location to enable user adoption and support.
- Promotes data analytics best practices.
- Participates in and contributes to project discussions.
- Communicates with team members on a regular basis.
- Utilizes reports and data collection technology to identify possible data errors and questionable data trends.
- Participates in audits as required.
- Provides support to senior level market access data analysts as needed.
- Mentors and supports less experienced market access data analyst staff, peers, and other department staff.
- Proactively provides process improvement feedback to management and provides input in SOP and standards updates/development.
- Maintains and continues to gain a broad overall knowledge in the field of real-world evidence data management.
- Responsible for attending training classes and professional meetings as required.
- Develops skills and shares them with others.
- Provides technical support and training on reports and tools for market access staff.
- Adheres to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Ensures other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Life Science, or related field with 8+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Relational database experience preferred.
- Knowledge in data visualization, dashboarding, or analytical report programing experience.
- Solid hands-on knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, SAS, R, MATLAB, Sharp, Visual Basic, SQL).
- Experience in the analysis of medical scientific data preferred.
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle process is preferred.
- Experience with real world evidence databases (e.g., Medrio, InForm, RedCap, OpenClinica, RAVE) as a plus.
- Knowledge of core Real-World Evidence data management applications (Clinical data management systems, electronic data capture, query tools, web browser, MS Office suite) a plus.
- Able to take initiative on own project responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task, taking into account established project priorities are essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of required technology.
- Medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously.

Benefits
Annual Base Salary Range: $135,000 - $200,000. We offer a competitive compensation package plus a benefits and equity program, when applicable. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
