Responsibilities
- Undertaking design and planning activities for structural design of maritime/waterfront projects including container and offshore wind terminals, bulk facilities, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal resiliency and beach replacement and coastal protection.
- Undertaking planning and design activities for structural design of new buildings and rehabilitation of existing buildings.
- Independently prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications and technical reports, and assist in oversight of the development of deliverables prepared by junior structural engineers.
- Perform quality control review of design calculations and drawings.
- Participate in the development of technical scope and design fee estimates in response to RFP’s.
- Cook up with other in-house and subconsultant engineering disciplines as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
- Occasionally provide site visits depending on project requirements.
- Work alongside a technical lead and project manager to ensure technical and business-related Project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field plus four (4) plus years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineering licensure in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration) six (6) plus years experience as a Structural Engineer with a focus in ports, marine and waterfront projects.
- Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAFE.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
