Maritime Industry Cost Estimator
Responsibilities
- Work well in a team, as well as independently to obtain labor, material, subcontractor, and travel pricing and organize all the information necessary to create and submit proposals to customers
- Use detailed spreadsheets and company-approved formulas to calculate the projected costs of proposed projects
- Communicate and coordinate with various involved parties, such as designers, engineers, logisticians, technicians, subcontractors, and customer reps
- Accurately handle multiple proposals simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Make recommendations for improvements or modifications to processes to correct problems and constantly improve the quality of proposals
- Maintain current knowledge of cost estimating practices
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant office products (i.e., Excel) necessary to execute job
- Anticipate travel to be up to 20%, varying throughout the year
Qualifications
- Candidates must possess the following professional experience & qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Science/computer programming/Engineering field or 10 years related experience
- Experience working with/on US Navy ship systems as well as commercial maritime ship systems
- Experience developing proposals for commercial maritime and USN projects
- Engineering or Technical work in the maritime industry is a plus
- Required knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
Pay & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 based on experience
