Location & Work Environment

Full time onsite at USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Baltimore, MD. Up to 10% travel is anticipated for ship checks. Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment; may involve repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments; may involve traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant technical, engineering, or marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in Marine Mechanical fields.
• Overall experience must include at least three (3) years of documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components.
• Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
• Proficient with common productivity software.
• Strong communications skills.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience related to U.S. Federal or commercial ship or boat building acquisition programs.
• Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
