What You'll Be Doing
- Inspects and services of electrical equipment during overhaul to ensure safe operations and prevent future breakdowns.
- Tracks, schedules, and performs preventive maintenance on any electrical vessel system.
- Researches and orders parts for repairs while maintaining proper inventory to support emergency repairs.
- Completes service calls on vessels to make required repairs as needed.
- Works with maintenance crew, vendor, and vessel crew when needed to complete repairs such as electrical, plumbing, or mechanical repairs.
- Advises leadership and boat crew of technical information and electrical guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Documents all work performed in the maintenance database.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
- A High School Diploma/GED.
- A Valid Driver's License.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- 5+ years marine electrical maintenance experience and repair of associated equipment.
- Ability to acquire TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Ability to be on-call weekends and nights during assigned weeks.
- Occasional travel overnight ability.
- Passes a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Prior towboat troubleshooting and repair experience (even better).
- Electrician Certification/License (even better).
- Experience working aboard boats (even better).
