MAR Audit Intern
About the role
The internship program at Capital Blue Cross is seeking highly motivated individuals with diverse backgrounds, academic credentials, and personal achievements. Interns will assist with the testing of controls across various business areas to support the completion of regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and update process documentation.
- Complete control testing steps as outlined in lead sheets.
- Prepare working papers consistent with standardized tickmarks and documentation guidelines, in accordance with Capital Blue Cross audit department policies and procedures.
- Work independently or as part of a team to achieve testing objectives.
- Identify discrepancies that may result in deviations or exceptions.
- Utilize audit management application to document work completed and maintain timesheets.
- Communicate effectively with manager, internal audit team members, and business personnel.
- Willingness to accept feedback to ensure completeness and consistency of workpapers.
Qualifications
- Ability to work at a computer workstation for up to 7.5 hours per day.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field of study.
- Exposure to basic Microsoft Excel.
- PREFERRED: Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale or equivalent thereof).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- This is a part-time position with a 19 hours per week schedule for 14-16 weeks.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.

- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field of study.
