About the role

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. We are seeking talented technicians to join our team in full-scale production of Amazon Leo satellites.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing
  • Maintain lab equipment and calibrate data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Requirements

  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure.
