Manufacturing Test Engineer II
A Day in the Life
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer II (Software), you will bridge the gap between engineering development and manufacturing by designing, deploying, and optimizing automated production test systems. You'll develop scalable software solutions, improve manufacturing performance through automation and data analysis, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Innoflight's products are built with exceptional quality, repeatability, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Develops Production Test Systems: Designs, deploys, and maintains automated manufacturing test software and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) that transition engineering validation into production-ready solutions.
- Builds Test Automation: Creates and optimizes Python-based automated test software that interfaces with ATE, laboratory instrumentation, and production hardware.
- Solves Manufacturing Test Issues: Investigates production test failures, performs structured root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to improve production yield.
- Optimizes Manufacturing Performance: Analyzes production metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), reduces test cycle times, and drives continuous improvement without sacrificing product quality.
- Supports New Product Introduction: Collaborates with Industrialization, Manufacturing, Hardware, and Software Engineering teams to integrate new products and engineering changes into manufacturing.
- Develops Scalable Test Architectures: Creates modular, maintainable software solutions that support multiple manufacturing programs and future product growth.
- Supports Production Operations: Provides technical guidance to manufacturing technicians by maintaining automated test software and improving production documentation.
- Communicates Technical Results: Participates in design reviews and technical review boards while presenting test results, root cause analyses, and improvement recommendations.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience developing software automation or production test systems.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience developing automated Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
- Experience troubleshooting software, firmware, and automated test systems.
- Knowledge of Linux, SQL databases, automated test frameworks, and manufacturing environments.
- C/C++ or JavaScript experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
