Manufacturing Test Engineer

About the role

Zoox is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to oversee the testing of sensors and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) used in our autonomous vehicles. This role involves developing automated tests for various components, collaborating with electrical and software teams, and ensuring continuous improvement through testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and release test solutions for manufacturing lines and contract manufacturers
• Create testing scripts to verify functionality, control test instruments, and analyze results
• Implement adequate test coverage across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle)
• Collaborate with other teams to establish best practices and drive continuous improvement on test deployment, runtime, and yield

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent technical degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of Python and shell scripting
• Experience in developing automated manufacturing tests on Linux
• Experience debugging failures using terminal commands
• Experience working with contract manufacturers
• Familiarity with SMT testing methods
