Manufacturing Test Engineer

Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer designing high-reliability test solutions that integrate hardware and software for complex and dynamic manufacturing environments. We are looking for someone eager to develop technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety-critical manufacturing test systems for products, integrating software, hardware, and systems engineering disciplines.
• Contribute to solutions to challenges in platform management, technical debt, data management, and cybersecurity.
• Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to their adoption across the cross-functional team.
• Innovate within manufacturing by exploring advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, and new technologies.
• Participate in a cross-functional Agile team within a larger Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization, including sprint and product increment planning.
• Initiate early collaboration with product teams to ensure new designs are optimized for testing, programming, and automation from the outset.
• Communicate project progress, schedules, risks, and challenges.
• Provide tier 2 support for technical problems with test equipment in live production.

Essentials

• You Will Have Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• The ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred

• You Might Also Have Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience (internships, co-ops, and school project teams may be considered).
• Experience developing software in languages such as C#, C++, or Python.
• Experience developing software for systems involving both hardware and software.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI tools.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and test.
• Experience working in Agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Experience developing requirements and working in requirements-driven environments.
• Experience with testing and test coverage strategies.
