Manufacturing Technician III

After training is complete, new hires will work rotating 12-hour shifts. Night and day schedules are available. How will you make an impact? The Manufacturing Technician III is responsible for building and integrating advanced AI server rack systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Technician III will focus on assembling complete server rack systems from initial framework through final integration. This role supports the assembly of air-cooled and liquid-cooled server racks destined for large-scale data center deployments. Through your expertise in mechanical assembly, cabling, troubleshooting, and quality workmanship, you will help ensure reliable, high-performance products are delivered to customers on time. What will you do? Build AI server racks from bare frame to fully assembled and cabled systems using detailed rack layouts and work instructionsInstall rails, servers, GPU trays, network switches, and power distribution units utilizing appropriate lifting equipment when requiredRoute and connect power, management, and high-speed copper and fiber optic data cables according to cabling maps while maintaining organization and labeling standardsInstall liquid-cooling components including manifolds, hoses, and quick-disconnect fittings, and support leak testing activitiesInspect, clean, and verify fiber optic connections prior to installationInterpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, bills of materials, and technical documentation to independently complete complex assembliesVerify torque requirements, component alignment, critical dimensions, and workmanship standards throughout the assembly processTroubleshoot and resolve assembly-related issues involving component fit, alignment, interfaces, and installation requirementsSupport prototype, pilot, and new product introduction (NPI) builds as requiredCollaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test teams to resolve technical and production issuesUtilize hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, precision measuring devices, and lifting equipment safely and effectivelyMaintain accurate production documentation and manufacturing recordsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing excellenceMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S principlesFollow all company safety, environmental, quality, and security policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned How will you get here? Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 5+ years of experience in server hardware assembly, data center infrastructure, network cabling, manufacturing assembly, or a related technical environment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, assembly instructions, bills of materials, and technical documentationProficiency using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and assembly fixturesStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to identify and resolve assembly, fit, alignment, and installation issuesUnderstanding of cable routing, labeling, and installation best practicesBasic computer skills and ability to navigate manufacturing systems and softwareStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environmentStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of up to 10-12 hours with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation; mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed Preferred Qualifications: Liquid cooling system assembly or maintenance experienceResidential or commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experienceData center hardware integration experienceAI server, GPU server, or high-performance computing system assembly experienceFiber optic installation and troubleshooting experienceExperience working in a high-volume manufacturing environmentIPC, CompTIA, electrical/mechanical assembly, or other relevant technical certificationsTechnical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Information Technology, or a related field What Can Jabil Offer You?
