Manufacturing Technician III

About the Role

The Manufacturing Technician III provides full-time hands-on support and guidance to production staff within assigned manufacturing cells, including operating equipment and contributing to daily production as needed. They may assist engineering staff with development and implementation of various manufacturing processes. Assignments are generally performed at the direction of a Production Supervisor or manufacturing management.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time in-cell technical support, including advanced troubleshooting expertise.
• Guide and train manufacturing processes to support Production Operators and Supervisors in resolving day-to-day issues.
• Serve as an immediate resource to confirm worker compliance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Verify and implement new manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Integrate with manufacturing and quality personnel to proactively identify situations that may negatively impact production quality.
• Routinely circulate within assigned areas and observe production.
• Monitor and verify equipment functionality.
• Actively participate in equipment installation and qualification.
• Encourage questions and maintain an approachable presence.
• Relay matters of concern to appropriate engineering staff.
• Resolve issues and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Follow disciplined product/process development and change control methods.
• Participate in the design of custom packaging for new products.
• Assist in implementing Temporary Engineering Orders (TEOs).
• Execute disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
• Authorize sign-off on urgent release of metals.
• Keep team members and leaders updated on work status and issues.
• Manage projects using disciplines taught and mentored by project management.
• Self-manage projects with trained Cascade Breakdown Charts.
• Log all activity.
• Mentor and train level 1 and 2 manufacturing technicians.
• Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, and respectful interactions.
• Work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• 4 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience in measurement with micrometers and calipers.
• Clear, organized, and professional communication in both written and oral form.
• High degree of energy and drive.
• Equipment (PLC) controls, vision system, GD&T, and CAD software knowledge a plus.
• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between facilities.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (Days) in Clinton, NY.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $22.50–$34.00 per hour ($46,500–$70,500 annually). The actual range will vary based on factors such as prior experience, knowledge, skill, education, and internal equity.
