Worker Type Regular Summary Job Description The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Technician is to test/assemble Counter UAS (C-UAS) systems and products in our manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions. Position Responsibilities Primary duty is the construction of mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand and precision toolsFinal assembly of systems with the use of heavy equipment such as cranes and forkliftsTesting and troubleshooting of sub-assemblies and final assembliesElectrical wiring fabrication / soldering of components and wiringLight machining and fabrication of metal and composite partsWorking with other production technicians and engineering to correct and improve upon any documentation, electrical and mechanical designs.Working with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs and validate released assembly/ fabrication documentationResponsible for ensuring that work tracking paperwork is completed as the work is performedMay also train other technicians in build and testing processMaintaining a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) High School diploma or GED equivalent is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceMinimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment or R&D fabrication labPrevious work within ESD, FOD and cleanroom environmentsExperience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is requiredAbility to read blueprints and schematicsMust have good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skillsMust have strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees in the CompanyStrong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies Vocational training in a manufacturing trade is preferredJ-STD-001 class II or higher solder experience.Work with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalizedComplete assigned tasks under minimal supervision and show problem solving skillsAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of dutiesDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals shared by the teamTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work productsIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the companyFocuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests Physical Demands Ability to work in a manufacturing environmentAbility to frequently use hand tools (e.g. clamps) using light, minimal forceInvolves extensive on-feet activity throughout the shiftFrequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50lbsFrequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance Clearance Level No Clearance The Salary Range For This Role Is $21 - $32 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
