About the role
The Battery Manufacturing Team at Lyten is seeking multiple technicians to operate automated assembly machines for battery cells. Our pilot manufacturing facilities will produce cells in a dry room environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment.
- Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S and LEAN manufacturing principles.
- Oversee operations of pouch cell assembly equipment to manufacture the required products.
- Perform quality inspection protocols to enable preparations of material against tight tolerances, high specifications.
- Monitor tool’s operation to ensure quality of product is maintained.
- Record equipment related issues and alert facility manager or a process engineer.
- Perform other duties as required or as requested by the manager.
Qualifications
- High volume manufacturing exposure in printed-electronics, solar-cell, semiconductor, or battery industries.
- Previous experience working in a dry-room or a clean-room.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Lithium-Ion Battery manufacturing facility.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with operation of ARBIN or MACCOR testers.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using various PLC/HMI controls.
- Experience using computers in the factory environment for automation, analysis and communication - including email, web applications and Microsoft Office suite.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Siemens HMI, understanding of Batteries and how they’re assembled, previous leadership/supervision experience, knowledge of Lithium-ion Testing Standards, Knowledge of UN Testing Standards, high volume manufacturing exposure, control system experience, and experience running/Controlling formation equipment.

- Ability to foster a professional work environment that instills trust and confidence among reports, peers and supporting organizations.
Physical Requirements
- This role will require long periods of standing of up to 12 hours in a manufacturing environment.
- The employee will be required to use his or her hands for lab instrument and equipment operation.
- Must pass a respirator fitment test.
- Required chem-/bio-safety training upon hiring.
- Ability to lift, kneel, push, pull, and/or move objects up to 50 lb.
