About the role
L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician D to join our team in Providence, Rhode Island. This role is part-time, working 9-80 hours per week, every other Friday off.
Responsibilities
- Electronic and mechanical assembly using work instructions, MSE direction and print specifications.
- Perform electronic and mechanical assembly functions.
- Electro-optic cable terminations and jointing, sub-surface communications cable management and electronics assembly.
- Tasks may require fiber optic splicing, potting mechanical and electronic components, Hi-Pot testing, may include soldering of electrical and electronic assemblies.
- Perform coarse and fine adjustments requiring the use of hand tools, precision measuring devices and other specialized equipment including, but not limited to vacuum equipment, digital indicators, optical microscopes, height gages, Vernier gages, micrometers, and electronic testing fixtures.
- Guide, coach and mentor less experienced team members; be a positive role model for the team.
- Participate in program or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling.
- Assists in determining the need for tooling, testing tooling, testing equipment and making recommendations for the design and planning of required tools and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with Technical School Training or equivalent a plus, work experience required with minimum of 6 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience with sub-surface communication optical cable, potting, fiber optics, electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Individual should possess strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Must have the ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE and follow all safety requirements.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with fiber handling and splicing.
- Knowledge and the ability to read and interpret prints and schematics.

The pay for this role is commensurate with experience.
