About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced, precision mechanical Manufacturing Technician to perform a variety of assembly duties including mechanical rocket engine assembly and test.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly and test of engines or other components/products as assigned.
  • Small mechanical precision assembly.
  • Handle precision clean parts within a laminar flow environment.
  • Perform diversified, but semi-repetitive operations following standardized methods and procedures under changing conditions.
  • Cook with and operate various computer systems and applicable software (such as retrieving work instructions or manufacturing module in ERP system).
  • Read and interpret product drawings, process specifications, and department procedures.
  • Provide assistance in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process, collect data, or assist in research work.
  • Repair or make recommendations to solve equipment issues.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers.
  • Perform mathematical calculations accurately and quickly.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work.
  • Work with management, supervision or lead personnel to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
  • Provide rapid support while following proper housekeeping and safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
  • Preferred Additional Skills:
    • Understanding of electrical test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.).
    • Knowledge of strippers, crimpers and installing solder splices.
    • Certification to IPC 620 preferred.
    • Familiarity with 5S and lean procedures.
    • Ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary.
    • Oracle and Delmia experience.
    • Knowledge of Laminar Flow environments and FOE/FOD controls a plus.
    • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and test of electromechanical components.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington is $22.83/hr - $42.54/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
