About the role

The Process Department in thin & thick film labs is seeking a skilled individual to perform a variety of routine, repetitive tasks involved in manufacturing substrates and elements. This position requires a combination of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain thin & dry film equipment
  • Prepare substrates for thin & dry film deposition by cleaning, etching, and other surface preparation methods
  • Thermal trim; dicing; element deposition/processing; substrate etching
  • Etched copper monitoring tolerances
  • Resistor rod adjusting/trimming/testing and preparation for downstream processing
  • Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and well-maintained, following safety protocols and guidelines
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, ordering replacements as necessary
  • Aids in meeting daily production requirements throughout the process area
  • Communicate effectively with team lead to discuss production plans, results, and any issues encountered
  • Inspection/packing of thin and dry film components
  • Electrical compliance testing of manufactured substrate components

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Mechanically inclined including ability to use microscope and measuring tools such as calipers, multimeter
  • Familiar with laboratory control procedures, chemical safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances
  • Preferred knowledge of micro or macro photo fabrication of elements
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work
