Manufacturing Technician - 12 hour rotating Night shifts

About the role

Agru America, Inc. is a global leader in plastics and geosynthetics manufacturing, based in Georgetown, South Carolina. We are expanding our team and seeking motivated individuals to join our production operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery
• Follow production schedules and meet quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to improve production processes
• Maintain accurate records of production data and equipment maintenance
• Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment
• Assist in training new employees in manufacturing procedures
• Maintain an understanding of raw materials and their appropriate manufacturing locations
• Check the quality of products through examination, measurement, and weighing
• Inform the shift supervisor about product quality, equipment, or safety concerns
• Perform any other duties assigned by the company
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Technical degree or certification (preferred)
• Experience with 5s (preferred)
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (1+ year, required)
• Experience as a machine mechanic (preferred)
• Some electrical experience (preferred)
• Overhead crane experience (preferred)
• Quality control experience (preferred)
• Forklift experience (required)

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if necessary

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Requires standing, walking, utilizing stairs or ladders, driving automatic forklift, climbing, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping
• Must be able to work in a non-controlled environment
