Innovative-IDM, one of the country’s premier Industrial Automation and Motion Controls distributors, is looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team. You will play a critical role in the production and assembly of our control panels, ensuring quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Assemble control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Install components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and other electrical devices.
- Ensure all components are securely mounted and properly aligned.
- Perform wiring and interconnection of control panels as per wiring diagrams.
- Strip, crimp, and terminate wires accurately.
- Label and organize wiring to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Conduct functional tests on control panels to ensure proper operation.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or defects in wiring or components.
- Verify that all panels meet safety standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of panel assembly and wiring activities.
- Update and revise wiring diagrams and schematics as needed.
- Prepare documentation for final panel inspections and customer delivery.
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure panels meet design specifications.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues or concerns.
- Provide input on design improvements and process enhancements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 – 3 years in a technical manufacturing position.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Must be able to work on their feet for 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to work consistently from 8am – 5pm with ability to come in early or stay late if needed.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of bills of materials and inventory systems.
- Knowledge and experience operating a computer and software.
- Knowledge and use of label and marker printing software.
- Knowledge and experience of electrical wiring and crimping skills, small to large wire gauge and cable assemblies.
- Knowledge and experience of electrical soldering.
- Complete knowledge and experience of hand tools and operating hand tools.
- Knowledge in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, as well as wire assembly drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly drawings.
- Ability to complete mechanical modifications to industrial control panel enclosures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality process for ensuring proper assembly of products.
- Knowledge of wire gauges, types of wires, and color of wires.
- Analytical skills and ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
