Manufacturing Technical Writer (6 month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical process documentation that enables production personnel to build high-quality products efficiently. This is a 6-month contract position located in Wilson, NC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical process documentation, including procedures, work instructions, guidance documents, and operator preventive maintenance documentation.
• Support adherence to site Change Control Board process.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate technical accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to standardize documentation practices.
• Maintain consistency in format, terminology, and document structure.
• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a shop floor environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to commute to and from Wilson, NC with your own transportation.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Aerospace or defense industry manufacturing experience.
• Experience with digital photo editing.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with manufacturing drawings, technical specifications, SAP, and basic production flow.

Pay

$24.04–$28.75 per hour. Compensation decisions are based on experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.
