Manufacturing Technical Manager

About the role

The Manufacturing Technical Manager at Lonza, Portsmouth (NH) is responsible for ensuring production readiness, supporting manufacturing teams, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support production readiness and ensure smooth execution of manufacturing campaigns
• Lead technical planning for technology transfers, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve process, equipment, and documentation challenges
• Analyze issues using root cause methods and implement preventive solutions
• Maintain and improve process documentation, including SOPs and troubleshooting guides
• Coach and guide team members to strengthen technical and operational capabilities
• Support audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience
• Experience working in a GMP manufacturing environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams
