About the role

Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, designed to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide. We're looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. Success depends on quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products you deliver. This role offers a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you'll solve difficult problems with high impact and help build something from scratch. To be successful, you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.

Expected working hours

Days: 6 am - 4:30 pm (Wed-Sat)

Key job responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Support some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc.)
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Basic qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
  • Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Pay

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $37.00/hour, and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location. Additional earnings include overtime pay and performance bonuses.
