Manufacturing Technician III, Amazon Leo

Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, delivering fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide. Key job responsibilities

• Follow work instructions and safety procedures
• Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
• Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
• Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
• Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
• Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
• Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc.)
• Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures

A day in the life

The MFG Technician III will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. Basic qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
• Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating / manufacturing environment

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
• Experience conducting structural, mechanical or electrical systems integration testing
• Demonstrated ability to follow electromechanical test requirements
• Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
• A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
• Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments

Pay

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $38.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. Base pay information is based on market location. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
