Union position reporting into the Production Department as a Process Owner.

About the Role

The KHMS Team Lead is the floor leader and process subject matter expert (SME) for the TRIO team. They are responsible for eliminating losses and delivering positive outcomes against key performance indicators (KPIs). The KHMS Team Lead builds capability in operating teams to deliver improved outcomes across the site and implements, maintains, and continuously improves the Daily Management Systems (DMS) for their focus area, including Clean Inspect Lubrication (CIL), Centerline Management (CLM), 5S, Performance Boards, Level Meetings, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA). This role provides support for the plant and may be assigned to any department based on seniority, relevant experience, and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in operations by assessing, coaching, or teaching team members on area processes, procedures, or work instructions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing guidance to ensure process areas are not constrained due to lack of capability or knowledge.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between operations and support departments.
  • Collaborate with operators and support functions to develop and execute plans to win each shift.
  • Develop strong coaching skills to provide effective feedback for plant team members in area of expertise.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for operator development and training, including troubleshooting support.
  • Champion, lead, and execute equipment, reliability, or process improvement projects.
  • Provide process-specific guidance and expertise to production and support teams.
  • Lead the production team to develop and execute a plan to win the shift.
  • Report out at relevant meetings and update KPIs and metrics for effective communication of process area activities and outcomes.
  • Partner with site leadership teams to ensure key stakeholders are aware of critical equipment or process failures.
  • Facilitate line loss analysis (waste elimination and yield improvement) and line throughput improvement plans (Overall Equipment Effectiveness - OEE).
  • Analyze daily and shift line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities.
  • Spend time on the floor gathering information on stops, centerlines, and changeovers over the past 24 hours.
  • Investigate the initial root cause of top stops utilizing KHMS tools and develop a plan for the shift.
  • Lead Level 1 meetings and participate in Level 2 and Daily Production Meetings (DPM).
  • Discuss top stops, root causes, and establish countermeasures in a plan to win the shift.
  • Manage DMS completion and compliance, developing action plans for any outages.
  • Accountable for meeting KHMS requirements as outlined in Digital Coach.
  • Work with Process Owner, CI Lead, and Maintenance Lead to address losses.
  • Ensure all safety and quality guidelines are followed and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Work with TRIO to identify improvement projects for the process area and drive breakthrough results in planned and unplanned downtime reduction.
  • Lead or support the RCFA process as assigned and support DMS training and coaching.
  • Coach, train, and develop the team by serving as a process area coach and resource.
  • Actively participate in KHMS structured processes and DPM according to standard.
  • Serve as leader or participant on assigned teams and support team decisions as needed.
  • Create and/or track OEE performance reports for the assigned area.
  • Request support from leadership and support groups to remove barriers.
  • Organize planned stops and conduct coaching in ownership areas for root cause analysis of process failures, breakdowns, and defect handling.
  • May be required to work in different business units and other shifts to expand business knowledge.
  • Utilize the SAP system for entering notifications and tracking production requirements.
  • Execute daily tasks using email, word processing, and spreadsheet management.
  • Perform and oversee all work in accordance with Kraft Heinz, OSHA, and NEC standards in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Facilitate timely completion and effectiveness of safety and FSQ corrective actions for the area of responsibility.
  • Comply with all Kraft Heinz policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Support the operational reliability culture using KHMS tools and align with plant and department team goals and vision.
  • Manage and improve start-up, shut-down, and changeover processes.
  • Support line day-to-day activities and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Qualified or demonstrate expertise in CIL, CLM, 5S, and Basic Problem Solving (5-Whys).
  • Willingness to become Yellow Belt qualified.
  • Upon hire, will train to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification.
  • Must successfully pass on-the-job training and maintain operator qualification.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50-100 pounds, requesting assistance as necessary.

Work Environment

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposed to high noise levels, chemicals, strong odors, fumes, airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.
  • Required to wear company-authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection, and other personal protective equipment.

Pay

Hourly rate: $32.11 with a $2.00 shift premium for third shift (9:30 PM - 6:00 AM).

Schedule

Third shift: 9:30 PM - 6:00 AM. May work overtime as required, including weekends and holidays.
