Manufacturing Support Technician

Wolfspeed is looking for an Ops Excellence Specialist to drive lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives while managing cleanroom Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and garment replenishment.

About the role

You’ll split your time between data-driven 5S oversight and hands-on replenishment of consumables and cleanroom attire. The position requires an 8-hour day shift Monday through Friday, with occasional evening support (up to two hours after 6 PM, about four times per month) to guide night-shift employees.

Responsibilities

• Track and report key 5S performance metrics using graphs and charts.
• Attend scheduled 5S walks, monitor observations, and provide on-the-spot guidance.
• Lead lean manufacturing, replenishment, and continuous-improvement projects or tasks.
• Interact with and guide personnel across all departments.
• Maintain and restock PPE throughout the site and cleanrooms.
• Order PPE to ensure adequate inventory in the storage room for distribution.
• Regularly lift and move ~15 lb bagged garments.
• Present training content during New Hire Orientation sessions.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented decision-making skills.
• Interest in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to wear full cleanroom attire (occasionally).
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to respectfully challenge people not following protocol.
• Ability to present training material to groups of 20 or more people in person.

Pay

Compensation range: $16.90 – $23.20 per hour. Actual pay will be based on job-relevant qualifications and experience.
