Responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Ensure production output supports the production schedule and meets all applicable quality requirements.
• Promote employee empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement through lean principles, compliance, quality, and personal growth.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement using problem-solving methods to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to assigned teams and other supervisors.
• Evaluate employee performance, address improvement opportunities, and handle disciplinary actions up to termination.
• Lead Tier Meetings to facilitate communication and problem-solving between support team members.
• Participate in capacity planning by scheduling production areas, ensuring adequate staffing, verifying material supply, and adjusting Kanban levels.
• Monitor manufacturing area supplies and equipment, and initiate purchasing requests as needed.
• Support company policies and procedures in plant safety and housekeeping.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
• Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing and/or operations management experience.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing (Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving, A3, DMAIC).
• Experience leading in a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and influence a team.
• Strong coaching, planning, and project management skills.
• Conflict management and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline preferred.

Bonus Points

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Injection Molding.

Pay

$66,900 - $86,000 a year. Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, with compensation varying based on position, experience, skills, and other factors.

Schedule

8p-6a Mon, 6p-6a Tues-Wed, 6p-12a Th (Shift Differential).

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use a computer, telephone, and printer, reach with hands and arms, talk, see, and hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel, and must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Majority of the role is performed in an office setting, but may require time in manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise, eye protection, and occasional exposure to outside weather, moving mechanical parts, high places, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
