About the role

This position is for the A1 Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday). The Manufacturing Supervisor I has basic knowledge and experience in the field and develops competence by performing structured work, receiving guidance from more senior peers. The role leads and facilitates safe operations in line with all safety, regulatory, and operational requirements while ensuring high levels of customer service, product quality, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Foster an environment where safety is the top priority, driving improvements and conducting routine safety checks. Promote a culture of zero safety incidents in compliance with all EHS requirements.
  • People: Deploy team members effectively to meet production schedules, ensure proper training, and drive engagement through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and survey action plans. Approve time and attendance weekly to ensure accurate pay and communicate key information to the team.
  • Operational: Coordinate shift activities to meet production schedules and ensure smooth handover to the next shift for safe and planned execution.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies through proactive checks (material, line clearance, spot checks) and manage compliance issues that may impact lot completion.
  • Performance: Oversee cycle time and change-over time management, identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Development: Develop direct reports through training, challenging assignments, and growth opportunities. Maintain personal development with a growth mindset.
  • Operational Excellence (OpEx): Participate in process improvement initiatives and manage non-hazardous/hazardous waste in compliance with internal procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in sciences or engineering strongly preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Two years of manufacturing or related experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality systems, and cGMPs; familiarity with documentation in regulated environments and strong writing skills.
  • Experience in an aseptic production environment is desirable (if applicable).
