About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team of production or hourly/direct employees in a unionized manufacturing environment. This position sets day-to-day activities within assigned manufacturing cell(s) to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. The role drives productivity and problem-solving through the CORE Management system, develops team leads and operators, and ensures alignment with the Collins CORE operating system.

Work Shift: Evening Shift (Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm). Relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cell-level manufacturing performance, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ensure adherence to practices and procedures by direct reports.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the daily CORE Management System, including:
    • Visual Management Systems
    • Lead Standard Work
  • Focus on accountability for daily results, rapid root-cause identification, and effective corrective actions.
  • Drive a strong problem-solving culture using practical tools and coaching behaviors.
  • Champion safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs within the manufacturing cell(s).
  • Coordinate materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure smooth operations.
  • Partner with planning to develop schedules meeting production requirements using On Time To Start and On Time To Finish metrics.
  • Provide leadership coaching and development for team leads.
  • Develop and execute training plans aligned with manufacturing cell and business needs.
  • Ensure timely execution of manufacturing transactions (e.g., time approval) in the SAP ERP system for data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other areas to improve data integrity.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, including specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of basic management approaches (e.g., work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, process execution).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience working with union employees.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, depending on the level of the position and whether it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments are not guaranteed and depend on individual, business unit, and company performance.
