Manufacturing Supervisor*

The role of Manufacturing Supervisor at 3M involves collaborating with innovative colleagues around the world. This position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military experience to a 3M career.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe and sustainable working environment through modeling safe behaviors and resolving safety-related problems.
- Establish priorities and allocate work assignments to meet specific daily production requirements using lean management processes to meet customer expectations.
- Monitor production rates, yields, and quality of products routinely, communicate results to employees, and leverage continuous improvement tools to improve scheduling, quality, and efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop employees through direct supervision, being present on the floor, providing recognition, overseeing training completion, policy administration, and participating in hiring processes which may include contingent workers.
- Represent plant leadership team through supporting initiatives across the plant, including but not limited to supervisor coverage for off shifts, being on-call, and at times serving as a primary plant management representative.
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- OR a bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and two (2) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Experience participating in daily tier management processes and improvement projects (Kaizens).
- Knowledge of material controls, warehousing, and manufacturing related supply chain.
