About the role

Produce high-powered fiber lasers and components as part of a manufacturing team. Receive on-the-job training to perform hands-on production tasks, including semiconductor processing, die bonding, wire bonding, electromechanical assembly, working with optical fibers, operating and testing lasers, and maintaining accurate production reports.

Schedule

Available shifts:

  • Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
  • Swing Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Learns and performs electromechanical assembly operations
  • Operates test equipment
  • Uses manual and electronic tools for mechanical and optical assembly
  • Enters production data into computer-based system
  • Contributes as a valued team member
  • Performs various production tasks which may include working in a clean room environment, wearing clean room garments, using a microscope, handling solvents, and working with tools
  • Engages in production activities according to documented work instructions and standards
  • Identifies and reports any irregularities which are not compliant with work instructions
  • Ensures work is completed in a safe manner and complies with all safety standards
  • Checks equipment regularly to ensure normal operating activity
  • May engage in basic troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable using a computer for data entry
  • Soldering and microscope experience a plus
  • Must be able to quickly learn to use and navigate new software
  • Must have good mechanical skills
  • Experienced handling and assembling small delicate components, using ESD practices and clean room protocol preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work assigned shift with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for 8-to-12-hour shift & lift up to 35 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to frequently use hands for the repetitive actions of simple and firm grasping
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment

Pay

  • Manufacturing Specialist I – starts at $19.20 per hour
  • Manufacturing Specialist II – starts at $20.35 per hour
  • Manufacturing Specialist III – starts at $21.57 per hour
  • Shift differentials: 10% for hours worked between 5:30 PM and 12:00 AM; 15% for hours worked between 12:00 AM and 5:30 AM
