About the Role

As a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Scientist/Technical Services Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Technical and Manufacturing Sciences team at our Clinton, Indiana manufacturing plant. The internship focuses on delivering a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will gain exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts, as many projects have site-wide impact.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the manufacturing environment and collaborate with different stakeholders to solve problems.
  • Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or lab improvements.
  • Learn about fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or packaging.
  • Create or use data visualization tools and update documentation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar major.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in using data to solve problems, improving processes, or working in manufacturing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision.

Additional Information

Travel: 10% to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing.

Location: Clinton Manufacturing Plant, Clinton, IN.

  • Pay: Competitive salary of $20-$40/hour (dependent upon major and year in school)
