Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Chemist Intern – Clinton, Indiana (Summer 2027)
About the role
As a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Quality Control Lab team at our Clinton, Indiana manufacturing plant. Your work will focus on delivering a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will have exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts, as many projects have site-wide impact.
Responsibilities
- Understand the manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit.
- Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements.
- Learn about quality control, fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or packaging.
- Study design improvement processes.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a similar major.
- Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision.

- Dates: May 17th – August 6th, 2027.
- Pay: Competitive salary of $20-$40/hour (dependent upon major and year in school).
