About the role
The Manufacturing Scheduler/Planner will play a critical role in creating and managing manufacturing schedules that optimize resource utilization while ensuring on-time delivery to customers. This position is ideal for someone with a strong planning/scheduling background in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Use existing scheduling methodology to create and modify manufacturing plans, timelines, resource usage, and utilization to ensure on-time delivery across the organization
- Regularly modify manufacturing plans to reflect changes in customer demand and requirements
- Escalate concerns about on-time delivery performance and resource utilization to enable timely adjustments to staffing levels or customer deliveries
- Create material pull requests and track their status to ensure all required inputs for manufacturing plans are resolved on time
- Generate and issue manufacturing travelers using the ERP system
- Work closely with the manufacturing manager to ensure adequacy and appropriateness of the manufacturing plan
- Maintain accuracy of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory
- Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements and communicate any schedule impacts proactively
- Coordinate with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules in response to supply chain changes or production challenges
- Maintain data relevant to production scheduling activities, including planning calendars, material data, and location data
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Manufacturing experience from a job-shop background or other technical, high-mix manufacturing environment
- Experience with manufacturing scheduling and familiarity with scheduling methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to identify and address potential bottlenecks
- Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make well-formed, rational decisions
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Qualifications
