Making a difference in the future starts here. As a Manufacturing Safety Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Applying and interpreting OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and environmental audits
  • Supporting incident investigations and maintaining compliance
  • Administering safety programs and delivering training
  • Maintaining safety documentation and communicating KPIs
  • Serving as a safety advocate and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will involve:

  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and EPA regulations
  • Conducting routine safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Maintaining OSHA 300 logs and assisting with regulatory reporting
  • Supporting environmental compliance activities
  • Delivering safety training and conducting toolbox talks
  • Monitoring personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and safe operating procedures
  • Tracking and communicating EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Participating in emergency preparedness planning and drills

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • OSHA 30 General Industry certification required
  • OSHA 511 preferred
  • Associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting industrial hygiene initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence safe behaviors

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role involves standing, walking, and frequent use of machinery. You may also need to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, airborne particles, temperature fluctuations, chemicals, and electrical hazards. Noise levels can be very loud, requiring the use of hearing protection.
